Low Cost Airlines
As a result of the competition arising from the advent of no-frills carriers there is now a wide choice of flights to Italy at prices to suit every pocket. There is a wide choice of flights from London and provincial airports to various destinations in Italy. Some of the low cost airlines flying to Italy are Ryanair, Easyjet, Thomsonfly, Jet2, bmibaby, BA Connect and Meridiana.

Scheduled Airlines
Because of the competition from low cost airlines, full service airlines now offer very competitive fares, but full service airlines offer complimentary in-flight services. Full-service carriers also offer full economy class and club class fares, which are usually more flexible as regards changes and refunds whilst no-frills carriers do not generally accept changes without charges. No-frills carriers do not always allocate seats at check-in so that passengers must find their own seats on a first-come first-served basis.

Charter Flights
Charter services are also available to Italy. They operate form the UK to a number of destinations in mainland Italy and Sicily.

Flight Prices
Prices vary considerably depending on the date and time of travel and availability. However, fares will generally be cheaper on non-peak days and times and out of peak season and the earlier you book the better the fare will generally be. Child prices are now not generally available when low cost fares are booked on either full-service or no-frills carriers.
